Job Description
Accounts Payable Administrator
Wittington Investments is a well-established private parent company of George Weston Limited. As the AP Administrator, you will play a key role within our Accounting/Finance team and be responsible for accurate and timely processing of invoices for multiple entities. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting and Financial Reporting, this is an opportunity to develop your career in a collaborative and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate for this role is organized, reliable and able to manage conflicting priorities within structured deadlines and deliverables.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process accounts payables in compliance with financial policies and procedures including verifying, classifying, computing, recording and posting of invoices
- Processing payment runs via electronic fund transfers and wire payments
- Reconciling AP to cash disbursements and investigating any variances
- Monitor vendor accounts, identify discrepancies and resolve payment issues
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
- Correspond with department heads to obtain invoice approvals and resolve any issues in a timely manner
- Complete monthly AP reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Review and process employee expense reimbursements
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls
- Prepare daily banking reports to monitor cash balances across multiple entities and investigating any variances
- Assist with various month-end closing and other tasks as required
- Assist with various administrative tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College or University degree in business, accounting or financial management
- 1-3 years accounts payable or general accounting experience is considered an asset
- Must be highly organized, flexible, detail and results oriented
- Gives high priority to quality and has the ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Able to work independently with some direction and in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and actions to people at all levels in the organization
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Good time management skills and reacts quickly to changing priorities
- Possess a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and respect for confidentiality
- Foundational understanding of information systems and IT controls is considered an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is considered an asset
