This is a temporary part-time assignment up to approximately twelve (12) months.
Sinai Health is seeking a Menu Clerk to join our Nutrition department at the Mount Sinai Hospital Site.
In This Role You Will
- Answer staff/patient inquiries, give directions and information as needed
- Take messages and relay information to the appropriate individuals
- Process information from CERNER into CBORD diet office system
- Process telephone and fax requests regarding patient diet information into the CBORD Diet Office Systems in an appropriate and timely fashion
- Enter patient menu selections into the database
- Check beltline to ensure patients receive their menu selections
- Complete patient discharges and transfers (i.e. adds/removes patient trays)
- Complete meal statistics daily
- Conduct other clerical duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Mandatory
- Successful completion of post-secondary diploma from an accredited educational institution
- Minimum 40 wpm typing/keyboarding speed
Preferred
- Food Safety Training certificate
- 1 year of recent food service experience in a healthcare setting, experience in a health care office and data entry experience
- CBORD computer knowledge

- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical demands of the position in order to perform the essential duties of the job which requires sitting at a computer work station for extended periods of time, in a noisy environment with frequent interruptions
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and read using English in order to perform the essential functions of the position
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
