Position Overview
As a Transfer Pricing associate, you will support the Cross-Border Tax Team in planning and executing international tax matters for clients, both ongoing and transactional. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to a variety of mandates involving Canadian companies abroad and foreign companies investing in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with financial statement analysis, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows.
- Develop Excel financial models for transfer pricing and tax planning purposes.
- Perform tax research on withholding tax, corporate tax rates, tax treaties, and case law.
- Prepare tax filings (T2s) and assist with foreign reporting (T1134, T106).
- Assist with client deliverables, including technical reports, transaction flow diagrams, and PowerPoint decks.
- Contribute to the development of technical presentations for internal learning purposes.
Your Qualifications
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong analytical and Excel financial modelling skills.
- Strong quantitative skills with the ability to interpret and make sense of large volumes of data.
- Undergraduate degree with major in accounting, finance, or economics.
- Holds a CPA designation or is currently pursuing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with TaxPrep, CaseWare or similar software (an asset).
