Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and creative
Communications Specialist to join our team, reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Media and Operations. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for digital communications across social media and PR, eager to contribute to our online corporate voice and presence. You will play a key role in engaging with our online communities, fostering meaningful interactions with our PR agencies and media, and building relationships across the organization. The position is split between social media management and general communications tasks, providing a well-rounded opportunity for growth and development.
You will work closely with the Communications Team, collaborating on initiatives and strategies to enhance our visibility and impact across our channels. Additionally, you will liaise with various departments, including Marketing, the Social Impact Team, and others, to ensure a cohesive and aligned approach to our communications efforts. About The Role
In this opportunity as a
Communications Specialist, 50% of the role will have a Social Media Focus. You will:
- Create and implement a strategic social media plan to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
- Actively engage with online communities, fostering meaningful interactions and building relationships.
- Monitor daily social media activity, responding to inquiries and managing crises as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports on social media performance and insights to enable data driven decisions
- Provide executive-level social media support and guidance, including content creation for key executives.
- Stay updated on social media trends and integrate them into our strategy.
- Maintain and oversee a comprehensive content calendar to manage content delivery across platforms.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather content ideas and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Social media training and guidance to internal communities
50% of the role will be General Communications. You will:
- Assist in creating and maintaining editorial calendars to ensure timely and coordinated content distribution.
- Participate in agency calls and collaborate with external partners to align on communication strategies.
- Support the development and dissemination of internal and external communication materials, such as press releases, newsletters, and presentations.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis of communication efforts to measure effectiveness and inform future strategies.
- Monitor media coverage and track trends to inform those pitching the media.
- Assist in drafting and proofreading content to maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure brand consistency in messaging across all communication channels through adherence to established tone, voice, and terminology guidelines.
- Provide support in managing communication tools and platforms, helping to optimize their use and efficiency.
About You
