HR Assistant – AskHR - Co-op Duration: January 2025 – April 2025
Under the supervision of the Manager, AskHR, the AskHR Assistant Co-op Student provides efficient service to all HR customers and ensures a positive employee experience. You will provide support on general or knowledge-based inquiries, policy interpretation and guidance on using the self-service platform. You will also conduct transactional updates to ensure transactions are error-free and comply with legal requirements.

About The Role
- Promote the usage of self-service as appropriate, which includes providing exceptional, consistent, experience-focused service.
- Guide HR customers in the use of self-service to submit inquiries, update personal data, and find HR procedures online.
- Identify gaps in knowledge management systems to assist with future inquiry resolution and employee and manager direct access.
- Provide helpful and efficient responses to inquiries from employees, following established HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Assess and interpret the level of complexity of cases and triage accordingly.
- Interpret HR policies, procedures, and guidelines to situations of varying complexities to meet the need of a diverse LCBO workforce, i.e. unionized employees, contractors, full-time/ part-time employees, executives, and future/ former employees.
- Interpret collective bargaining agreements to ensure responses support the appropriate collective agreements for unionized employees.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and data controls to provide services and information in an accurate and complete manner.
- Enter inquires and subsequent resolutions into appropriate enabling technology system(s).
- Complete all transactions for employee data administration, department, and position management, leave of absence, timekeeping, onboarding, contractual rate changes, employee separations, and benefits.
- Collect completed and required documentation and ensure data is complete and accurate.
- Audit completed transactions and data to ensure accuracy.
About You
- Pursuing a post-secondary diploma in Human Resources or related field. Must be either: registered in a co-op program, OR a Full-Time student returning to school in the same program following the work term, OR a Full-Time student requiring the work term or co-op placement to graduate.
- Client service experience and ability to manage customer expectations, provide excellent service and further the employee experience.
- Prior experience in a shared services center or call center environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, judgment, and problem-solving skills with high level attention to detail.
- Ability manages multiple deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to be attentive to details and manage multiple deadlines.
- Workday and ServiceNow Experience is preferred.
