We are currently hiring a
Associate Corporate Accountant based in our
Head Office.
Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (2 Days On Site / 3 Days Remote). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.
As an
Associate Corporate Associate at BCAA, you will play an integral role in maintaining the organization’s fixed asset ledger and providing key support in financial reporting and accounting. You will oversee fixed asset accounting tasks, such as recording additions, disposals, and transfers, as well as preparing monthly reconciliations and quarterly working papers. Additionally, you will assist with general accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end reviews.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong ability to apply judgment and problem-solving skills. Your work will involve collaborating with stakeholders across the organization, including senior management, to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do
- Record fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments in the fixed asset sub-ledger.
- Calculate monthly depreciation and reconcile fixed asset sub-ledger and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare quarterly fixed asset working papers and conduct annual impairment reviews.
- Support non-finance stakeholders by providing expertise on capital project accounting cases.
- Assist with month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and foreign exchange and banking entries.
- Collaborate with the Finance Team to identify and implement process improvements and prepare year-end audit working papers.
- Monitor and investigate account inconsistencies, recommending corrective actions to ensure accurate financial reporting.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce with a concentration in Finance/Accounting, or a degree in another discipline with a post-secondary diploma in Accounting.
- Demonstrable progress toward completing the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, including enrollment in or completion of all prerequisite CPA preparatory courses.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and relational database applications, with a strong aptitude for managing large data sets.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to diverse audiences.
- Bonus Skills:
- Enrollment in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous co-op or internship experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience in a high-volume transaction environment or multi-entity corporate reporting structure.

The salary range for this position is $54,957.00 to $68,696.16 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.
