What you’ll be doing
The Director, Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Operational Risk will execute the operational risk program and practices related to the identification, measurement, mitigation, and monitoring & reporting of operational risk associated with data and AI initiatives across CIBC. In this capacity, the Director will work closely with, data and AI teams, and risk partners across the company to manage operational risk with a consistent and collaborative approach. The role applies leadership skills and technical expertise to ensure that effective processes are in place to identify, manage, measure, monitor, and control operational risks related to data and AI. Additionally, the role provides continuous improvement leadership with respect to operational risk management methodologies and practices, driving innovation across all areas of responsibility.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Operational risk management - Lead the execution of the operational risk program, ensuring alignment with CIBC's risk appetite. Conduct independent assessments of business lines, projects, and risk controls, utilizing operational risk tools and methodologies.

Relationship building - Foster strong relationships across Risk Management, technology units, and other enterprise functions. Facilitate collaborative discussions to track the status of key initiatives and ensure objectives are met.
Who you are

You can demonstrate 5 years of experience in data management and data governance.

You’re a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM), and/or an equivalent framework. It’s an asset if you hold additional certifications related to data management, governance, or artificial intelligence.
