Full Job Description
Client is currently seeking a Legal Assistant with approximately 1-3 years of experience in Plaintiff personal injury law (tort claims, motor vehicle accidents, dog bites, accident benefits, falls, long-term disability benefits denials, etc.).

Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills; and a strong attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to be resourceful, organized, and work with minimal instruction or supervision
The ability to work within tight timelines to meet deadlines while reassessing priorities as needed
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) when dealing with lawyers, clients, staff, and third parties
Being proactive and taking initiative in anticipation of the next steps on an assigned task.
Qualifications
Completion of a post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk course
A Minimum Of One Year Experience In Civil Litigation
In-depth understanding of personal injury and legal terminology
Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
Computer and typing skills (55 wpm or higher); and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Pro, digital dictation, etc.
Experience working with PCLaw, Primafact, ACL, Tracument, Filevine, etc. is an asset
Responsibilities
Handling all administrative duties, including email and calendar management, coordinating meetings, scanning and circulating mail, etc.
Under professional legal supervision, preparing legal documents and correspondence according to precedents and/or instructions
Ensuring all physical and electronic filing is organized and up to date on a regular basis
Occasional transcribing digital dictation
Delegating tasks to, and coordinating with, other administrative departments
Providing backup coverage in the absence of other team members
Other duties, as assigned
