We are currently seeking experienced Logistics Coordinators to join our client’s team in Toronto. A strong background in LTL transportation and freight brokerage within both the US and Canadian markets is essential. Key competencies include dispatch operations, rate negotiation, carrier network development, and proficiency with LoadLink. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced transportation environment and demonstrate strong multitasking abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate freight brokerage for customers across Canada and the US, handling both LTL and FTL shipments
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with carriers, negotiate competitive rates, and manage dispatch operations
- Oversee local and long-haul dispatching across a variety of truck routes
- Coordinate dispatch for rail, flatbed, and refrigerated trucks
- Manage all inbound and outbound activities for assigned routes
- Remain up-to-date on current customs regulations
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong proficiency in computer systems, with the ability to work independently across various software platforms
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in freight brokerage
- At least 3 years of dispatching experience
- Experience with Truck Mate is considered an asset
- Comprehensive knowledge of LTL transportation and the trucking industry
- Demonstrated ability to broker truckloads, negotiate rates, develop carrier relationships, schedule shipments, and track deliveries
- Familiarity with common carrier tariffs, freight classifications, NMFCs, TMS systems, and load boards is advantageous
