The Coordinator, Technical Operations will be responsible for providing coordination of construction/technical support, for landlord projects, capital projects including bulk tender of projects/services for Choice Properties. The Construction Project Coordinator assists with planning, execution, and finalization of construction projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes coordinating efforts of team members and third-party contractors to deliver projects according to plan.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update procedures, documentation, contracts, and related systems to support the delivery of capital, operating and construction projects.
- Manages external contractors and ensures quality of workmanship and compliance with specifications requested.
- Set up meetings, coordinate work with various parties and provide progress updates
- Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other data
- Maintains contract depository to facilitate proactive retendering of services.
- Track project accounts, billings, signoffs, project draws and payment of invoices.
- Keep track of incoming condition assessment report and assist in preparing budgets for next five years.
- Assist consultant in setting up and tendering of projects through building connected platform.
- Ensure the status of capital projects are documented in the capital tracking tool and is accurately updated on a timely basis, provide senior team with biweekly update reports.
- Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
Qualifications:
- Must have minimum 1-year previous construction project coordination experience or internship.
- Post-secondary education in related field.
- Ability to read blueprints/drawings and ability to interpret reports including BCA/Environmental/Knowledge of roofing/paving, and geotechnical.
- Knowledge of current building standards, codes, and legislative requirements
- Possesses a sustainability mindset and seeks to incorporate sustainable practices within assigned portfolio where possible.
- Possesses a continuous improvement and quality mindset and seeks to continuously improve processes and incorporate best practices where applicable.
- Excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines with strict time constraints.
