Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Human Resources Business Partner, the Human Resources Officer will support with various responsibilities, including recruitment activities, onboarding, and the development of new HR processes and policies. Your key duties will include:
- Identify current and prospective staffing requirements and create, maintain, and update job descriptions and advertisements.
- Collect, review, and screen applications to identify qualified candidates.
- Build relationships with organizations and educational institutions to meet recruitment and sourcing objectives.
- Contact potential job applicants for interviews and provide guidance on employment requirements, terms, and conditions.
- Coordinate and participate in selection processes to evaluate candidates.
- Notify applicants about the results of selection processes and prepare job offers
- Assist and advise on the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs aimed at enhancing employee satisfaction, work safety, and retention.
- Provide resources to employees and managers with respect to career development, compensation, staffing initiatives, performance management and employee relations.
- Determine staff eligibility to entitlements, coordinate training programs, and facilitate employee assistance, counseling, and recognition initiatives.
- Assist in coordinating and communicating the annual team survey.
- Address ad-hoc employee questions and queries, while facilitating staff consultation and grievance procedures to ensure alignment with HR policies.
- Support HR Information System-related activities, maintain HR documentation, and compile statistical reports on personnel-related data, including hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
- Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
What are we looking for?
- College diploma in business administration, industrial relations, commerce or completion of a professional development program in personnel administration.
- Certification as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) will be an asset.
- 1-2 years of experience in similar roles
- Good working knowledge of MS Office
- High-level organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Great interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, versatile, and flexible, with excellent creative and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude, with good initiative and a strong work ethic.
