What You’ll Be Doing
The Specialist, Operations Management will be part of the CIBC Trust Operations team, supporting Wealth Management Operations. The CIBC Trust Operations team is primarily responsible for the processing and settlement of CIBC Trust and CIBC Private Investment Counsel (CPIC). As a Specialist, Operations Management you will primarily be accountable for validation and approval of large value transactions, managing client/partner/business unit escalations end to end and responding in a timely and concise manner. You will be responsible for financial reporting, consultative advice relative to the development, analysis and identification of process changes and system enhancements. You will also participate in meetings, acting as a subject matter expert, and will provide guidance to junior staff.

How You’ll Succeed
- Operational Functions - Individual must be familiar with settlements including experience in operationally supporting post trade processing for trade matching, confirmation, trade settlement and regulatory reporting. Requirement to follow all procedures and controls within the Operations team.
- Accurate with an attention to detail - Documentation of existing processes and system flows; recommend enhancements to processes, job functions and systems; evaluate options; communicate benefits; and assist with project delivery timelines.
- Leveraging technology - Computer literacy skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
- Strong Communication Skills – Ability to understand the ask and articulate a clear and concise response to inquiries/escalations.
- Process Improvement Mindset - Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements. Seeks efficiencies in operational functions wherever possible.
- Decision making and critical thinking skills - Able to manage a request/process/escalation independently and only escalate as required.
- Technical Skillset - Ability to analyze and present data in a meaningful way.
