About This Opportunity
Students for this position are currently enrolled in Aerospace Engineering program and are team players who possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills, have excellent PC skills (database software and major desktop applications). Knowledge of Manufacturing, Procurement and the electronics industry is also recommended.
The student will develop the following skills and work in the following areas:
- Supply chain/commodity business practices
- Analytical skills
- Advance proficiency in various Microsoft products
- Project management experience
- Global site interaction
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of general aerospace products and industry
- Basic manufacturing system knowledge
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and work on several tasks at the same time
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience working with macros is considered an asset
- Programming skills is an asset
Activities
- Research Aerospace customers’ products and market trends.
- Receive, review and understand product data packages from our external customers.
- Send and negotiate quote tenders with suppliers to establish cost and set pricing.
- Interface with manufacturing and supply chain teams to prioritize engineering changes and data setup based on production schedule.
- Complete bill of material, component and assembly data set up within Celestica's internal databases to enable material procurement and manufacturing.
- Communicate with external customers to resolve missing and/or inaccurate data.
- Consolidates, tabulates, analyzes and reports on various topics, commitments and performance metrics.
- May have the opportunity to develop and maintain various business processes
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams on continuous improvement initiatives as necessary to enhance processes to meet cost, quality, and delivery.
- Work is guided by detailed instructions, routines, and procedures. Works under close supervision and receives detailed instructions on all work assignments. Once proficiency in the tasks is achieved, interns will work autonomously and be given more complex duties. Will work directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers, and team members. Will work with colleagues and suppliers around the globe gaining international experience.
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
- Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc).

Education: Enrolled in a formal internship or co-op Aerospace Engineering or General Engineering program in a recognized university. University program completing 3rd of a 4-year program or 4th of 5-year program of study and eligible for an internship program.
