We are a small ISO-registered medical device manufacturer located in east Toronto. We are experiencing multiple years of double-digit sales growth and are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be working in conjunction with the VP Finance performing daily HR and Payroll duties. Currently, these responsibilities are being shared between Finance and Operations. This will be our first hire in HR.
Position: Human Resources / Payroll Administrator
Status: Part-time (24-32 hours / week)
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Responsibilities:
- Manage the time and attendance system, ensuring accurate capture of the hourly employees for payroll.
- Manage time keeping records - vacation, lieu, and sick days.
- Manage the payroll processes for the Hourly (bi-weekly) and Salaried (semi-monthly)
- Administration of employee benefit programs - health benefits, RRSP, and other perks.
- Assist employees with benefit related inquiries and enrollment process.
- Lead the recruitment process - job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and candidate selection.
- Conduct new employee onboarding and orientation.
- Manage and maintain employee files and records.
- Address employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of compensation structures.
- Develop, update, and communicate HR and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Plan and coordinate employee events, activities, and recognition programs.
- Prepare regular reports on HR metrics and trends for reflection and MRB meetings
- Support the management of the termination process, including exit interviews and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to terminations.
- Participate in JHSC and monthly reflection meeting
- Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education with a focus on human resources (BHRM is preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience as HR Generalist or HR Administrator
- Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation (CHRL is preferred)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
- Strong organizational / time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word programs
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $28.00-$33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
