Surge Learning is a fast-growing SaaS platform that focuses on Learning, Quality& Risk and Policy Management software development. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Director of Business Development to join our growing sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new business prospects, nurturing relationships with potential clients and paving the way for partnerships that promote growth.

You will be:
- Setting the strategic goals for business growth including market analysis, trend spotting and forecasting to position the company as a leader in the market
- Identifying and targeting potential new markets and customers
- Building and maintaining nurturing relations with potential clients and partners
- Development of Business Development Plans with clear sales targets that meet growth goals and objectives
- Directing and coordinating activities involving sales of products and services
- Managing a sales team, setting goals, providing mentorship and training to the team within an accountability framework
- Building and maintaining relationship with key potential clients, negotiate and close deals
- Collaborating with the marketing consultant to develop marketing strategies and campaigns
- Analyzing collected data to measure the effectiveness of the sales team’s efforts
- Monitoring competitor products, sales and marketing activities
- Leading and attending trade shows, conventions and other key events and activities
- Preparing and presenting reports to the internal team monthly
- Preparing and presenting reports to the Board of Directors quarterly
- Maintaining a CRM database and ensuring detailed notes of all sales related activities.
- Evaluating market conditions and adjusting sales initiatives accordingly
- Responsibility for the achievement of sales targets
- Participating in budgeting and financial planning for the business development department
About You:
- An in-depth understanding of the sales process and dynamics, and also exceptional interpersonal skills
- Previous experience as a business/sales director, sales manager or sales and marketing director is essential
- A proven track record of producing exceptional new account acquisition results
- A proven track record of successful sales achievements and effective closing skills
- Excellent organization and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in Lead Generation and marketing
- Excellent communication, leadership and negotiation skills
- Experience with Web Based Applications (SaaS), CRM’s and Microsoft Office a plus
- Self-driven, results-orientated with a positive outlook and a clear focus and attention to detail
- In-depth knowledge of the market and current events
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities to lead and/or assist with addressing customer issues and sales roadblocks
- Excellent customer service skills to understand the needs of clients and promote high level of satisfaction
- A Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- Open mindedness, sense of humor and you enjoy a fast-paced environmen
- Ability to multi-task the activities and shifting priorities
