Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and results-oriented marketer to join our dynamic and committed team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in executing marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness and visitation to the Garden. This position requires a blend of analytical skills and creativity, with a passion for plants, digital marketing, and hands-on public engagement. The Marketing and Audience Engagement Coordinator will collaborate with all departments in promoting TBG’s programs, events, and mission to a diverse audience while ensuring cohesive messaging and effective campaign execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Marketing Execution. Collaborate with the Marketing Director to implement organizational and departmental marketing strategies that increase brand visibility and engagement across all digital platforms.
- Content Marketing. Develop a comprehensive content calendar and publish engaging content for blogs, social media, videos, annual reports, and Trellis magazine to communicate effectively with TBGs various stakeholders and subscribers. Work alongside a team of volunteer photographers to document TBG’s gardens, events, and activities year-round.
- Social Media Management. Plan, create, and schedule content for social platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook. Manage campaigns to grow audience reach and engagement.
- Event Coordination. Assist in planning and executing seasonal events and nature-based exhibitions, ensuring smooth logistics and an exceptional attendee experience. Manage onsite box office and online ticket sales.
- Email Marketing. Design and execute targeted email campaigns using platforms like Constant Contact, including Garden Enews, and event promotions.
- Graphic Design. Design and produce monthly “What’s On” flyers, Posters, and Onsite signage to ensure the brand is represented consistently across the site.
- Digital Asset Management. Oversee digital asset management, organize photo archives, and ensure accessibility for team use.
- SEO & Website Management. Optimize website content to improve search engine rankings and enhance user experience. Track and report on website performance.
- Analytics & Reporting. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across marketing efforts, analyze campaign effectiveness, and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Online Advertising. Support paid advertising efforts, including Google Ads and social media ad campaigns, to attract and convert leads.
- Collaboration. Work closely with the Marketing and Audience Engagement Director, contractors, volunteers, and internal team to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment with the organization's strategic plans.
- Partnerships. Support partnerships with cultural organizations, sponsors, and cross-promotional partners to enhance TBG’s outreach. Coordinate reciprocal marketing initiatives with partners.
Must-Haves
- A degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in marketing or a similar role.
- Graphic design skills and familiarity with tools like Canva, Photoshop
- Experience with email marketing platforms, such as Constant Contact or Mailchimp
- Strong event/project management and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, content creation, and scheduling tools.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to track KPIs and make data-driven recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

Education
- Post-secondary education (focus in special events, marketing, communication, public relations) OR equivalent work experience
