About this Opportunity
Richmond Country Club is seeking a Sales Associate for our Golf Pro Shop. Reporting to the Head Golf Professional, this position will assist in the retail aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Golf Pro Shop. The successful candidate will possess an immaculate customer service and sales skillset to engage with our members and guests; while also performing duties of stocking, inventory management, and general store operations as required. They will also strive to uphold the Golf Pro Shops appearance and ensure sales targets are met. The individual will work as a cohesive crew with the Golf Operations team on a day-to-day basis.

What are we looking for and what can you bring to the table?
The Golf Pro Shop Sales Associates duties and responsibilities are:
- Be actively involved and take ownership for the retail operations and retail experience of our Golf Pro Shop.
- Provide enthusiastic and genuine customer and retail service to our members and their guests by promoting products and services, and helping members/ customers make buying decisions.
- Greet guests, and provides prompt, courteous, and friendly customer service with the aim of focus on driving long-term customer/ member loyalty and conversion by training the team on elevating the in-store customer experience.
- Maintain a welcoming Golf Pro Shop atmosphere by keeping the shop neat and orderly with clean displays and floors, including any set up as agreed such as maintaining the daily cleanliness of the shop; vacuuming and dusting as needed.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and customer questions professionally.
- Ensure proper rotation of inventory and displays, update sale merchandise, maintain inventory records, and accurately reconcile cash register sales with daily sales reports.
- Accept inventory orders/shipments and stock shelves/racks. Inform management of receipt of items and inventory levels as needed.
- Work closely with the Golf Pro Shop staff and Assistant Golf Pro staff to organize daily operations.
- Assists members and guests with all their needs while in the shop; ensuring inquiries and requests are met efficiently and professionally; and complaints are dealt with pleasantly, recorded, and reported to the management.
- Assist in coordinating and providing assistance in tournaments and events. Keep updated on upcoming golf tournaments and provide information to customers as needed.
- Follow safety policies and practices, work safely, and report unsafe activity and conditions. Record and document any safety hazards or other important situations immediately to the management.
- Ensure documents are complete with proper signatures, dates, or other written information; ensure collection and recording receipt of appropriate payment (cash, credit card transactions); handle and record cash and credit card transactions following the appropriate Club policies and procedures.
- Perform all work duties and activities following the Club policies and procedures.
- Lead with inspiration and motivate their fellow team members, while being a self-motivated individual.
- Any other duties assigned by the management to assist with the daily operations of the Golf Pro Shop Team.

- Applicant must demonstrate the desire to work at a private golf club in close relation with all club members and staff.
- A sincere passion for Golf (the People, the Business, and the Game) is appreciated.
- A minimum of 2+ years of retail and merchandising experience with a proven capacity of managing a store / shop is required.
- Previous experience in providing exceptional customer service is required in a similar industry or background.
- High standards of organization, eye for detail, and time efficiency in a fast-paced operation are required.
- Adding your unique sense of quality and work ethic to the Pro Shop operations.
- Strong business acumen in retail / luxury retail and a keen understanding of how to execute strategic plans and initiatives, individual and through the team.
- Having a positive, energetic, and friendly yet professional persona with a welcoming and inclusive mindset and a passion for emulating and upholding our core values.
- May be required to work early mornings, evenings, holidays, or weekends as needed.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Additional language abilities such as speaking Mandarin or Cantonese or any other language abilities are an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is appreciated.
- Knowledge of the basic rules of golf.
More information on the role:
- Duration: Potential for a 12-month position.
- Sales Bonus: Opportunities to additionally earn commissions.
- Hours of Work: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Tuesdays Saturdays.
- Flexibility Required:Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and during league and social golf events.
- Start Date: March 15, 2025.
- Job Environment: On-site only, outdoors and indoors.
- Ability to commute/relocate: Richmond, BC- reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).

The Operations:
Our 6800-yard, par 72 A.V. Macan designed course is one of BCs premiere golf venues. Our championship-level golf course is known for its tree-lined fairways, well-positioned bunkers, and signature raised, undulating greens. The variety of tees allows all levels of golfer to enjoy our well-conditioned course year-round. The golf pro shop is open 30-minutes before the first tee time and closes at dusk 363 days per year, which does not include Yom Kippur and Christmas Day.
The golf operations is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the golf experience for the members and their guests.
