Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Email & SMS Marketing Specialist to join our team. In collaboration with the marketing team this individual will be responsible for driving customer engagement, retention, and growth through strategic email marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate is both a creative and analytical thinker with a passion for storytelling, design, and data-driven optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Campaign Execution: With guidance and in collaboration with the marketing team, reporting to the Director of Marketing, plan, create, and execute email / SMS marketing campaigns, including promotional, lifecycle, and triggered emails / texts, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and marketing goals.
- Automation: Develop and optimize automated workflows to enhance customer journeys, leveraging advanced segmentation and personalization techniques.
- Template Design & Asset Creation: In collaboration with the creative & marketing teams - design visually appealing and on-brand email templates and create campaign assets that captivate and engage.
- A/B Testing: Conduct regular A/B tests on subject lines, copy, layouts, and call-to-actions to maximize open rates, click-through rates, and overall email performance.
- List Growth: Develop and execute strategies to grow the email / sms subscriber base, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws and best practices.
- Analytics & Reporting: Monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates; provide actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, content, and performance marketing, to ensure cohesive, on-brand campaigns and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in email & sms marketing, with hands-on expertise in popular platforms such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Attentive, Sendlane or Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Proven track record of managing email & sms campaigns from ideation to execution, including automation workflows.
- Strong design skills with experience in creating responsive email templates using tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or Canva.
- Strong understanding of email marketing optimization and best practices, (including but not limited to send times, subject lines, optimizing for mobile, etc.)
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS for email design is a plus.
- Proficient in segmentation, personalization, and analytics tools to drive engagement.
- Experience with A/B testing and familiarity with tools to conduct experiments effectively.
- Strong understanding of email marketing best practices and compliance (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Passion for storytelling and an appreciation for the legacy of cultural icons and athletes.
