As an Addiction Coordinator you will be required to conduct interviews at various locations within the GTA; develop and implement in-depth and creative plans of supervision; design a range of flexible, innovative and client centered responses within the field of addictions/concurrent disorders and mental health; manage a caseload of clients with addiction issues including those with developmental and/or mental health issues; making appropriate referral to outside agencies as required; liaising with members of the Immigration System, Criminal Justice System, Addiction and Mental Health Systems; provide month end and evaluative statistics as well as keep updated case notes; transport clients to and from hearings, detention facilities, Addiction and Mental Health Services, legal appointments etc.; engage in enforcement process when necessary.
Qualifications:
A university degree of college diploma om a related field (Psychology, Social Work, Criminology, Addictions, Counselling Services) with a good working knowledge of the population.
Minimum 3 years full-time experience in direct service delivery (addictions treatment, detox etc.) to adults with serious additions issues.
Direct experience in addiction services.
Strong case management skills.
Ability to assess clients and develop relevant treatment plans.
Ability to develop appropriate responses to potential crises, usually obtained through Crisis Intervention Training.
Ability to coordinate and access a variety of services with the Addiction and Dual Diagnosis/Mental Health Community and develop appropriate responses to potential crisis.
Experience providing brief therapy interventions and coordinating case conferences with multi-disciplinary teams.
Possess effective analytical assessment and decision-making skills
Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
Flexible, self-starter with an ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Good time management and administrative skills.
Excellent ability to communicate and maintain positive relationships with service providers and clients.
Must have daily access to an automobile with at least $1,000,000 in liability insurance.
A willingness to travel with and without clients to various locations.
Experience working with diverse communities.
