The Role
BGC is looking for a highly motivated and organized Administrative Assistant to join our Vancouver Team. The ideal candidate would be a self starter who values teamwork, takes initiative, and takes pride in their work. In this office-based role you will be responsible for supporting a range of administrative needs and collaborating with your fellow administrative teammates across BGC. You will report to BGC’s Administration Team Lead and the Vancouver Office Managers, and will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic consulting environment alongside our Engineers, Geoscientists, and other BGC teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide reception coverage as needed
- Liaise with building management and local vendors for repairs, maintenance, and security
- Support coordination of domestic and international shipments
- Organize catering for office functions and meetings
- Maintain office organization, various office equipment, and supplies inventory
- Prepare meeting rooms and setup of audio-video equipment
- Coordinate travel and accommodation for staff and clients
- Prepare and coordinate for the onboarding of new staff, including preparing and organizing workspaces for new hires
- Assist with planning office and company social events and meetings
- Print and bind reports and drawings
- Support the Vancouver Office Managers, office staff and greater BGC Administrative Team as needed
- Perform other tasks as required
Required Education, Experience & Competencies
- Entry level position, 1 year of experience would be an asset
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Reliable, adaptable, and able to pivot with changing priorities
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines with attention to detail
- Collaborative approach to working in a team environment
- Proficient in MS Office products and Adobe Acrobat
- Comfortable with learning new technology and software
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

The estimated base salary range for this position is $50,000-60,000 CAD per annum, however base pay will be commensurate with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. BGC's compensation package also includes an annual bonus, training allowance and a comprehensive medical and dental plan.
