As an Abatement Technician you will be responsible for a varying level of responsibilities based on your experience and skill set. Positions range from Labourer to Technician and then Certified Crew Lead/Supervisor. Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (there will be times where overtime during the week and weekends may be available and/or required).
JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Labourer
Labourer is an entry level position, as a labourer you will be responsible for taking direction and training from both the Crew Lead and Technicians. For the most part you will be responsible for personal safety and hygiene, removal of materials, and maintaining site cleanliness.
Technician
Technician designation is given to employees who previously started with the company as a labourer and have shown eagerness to learn, retained training information and applied it to job sites, excelled in areas as a labourer and displayed strong work ethics and willingness to learn. As a technician you will be given more responsibilities such as driving a company vehicle, giving more direction on the removal of materials, higher responsibility of health and safety of yourself and others on site, and a greater understanding of rules and regulations, as well as the Scopes, Risks Assessments and Exposure Control Plans.
Crew Lead/Supervisor
This is the highest level of responsibility in the field. As a Crew Lead/Supervisor you will be responsible for nearly all aspects of the jobsite and crew. You are responsible for reading, understanding, and applying all aspects of the Scope, Risk Assessment and Exposure Control Plans. You will be responsible for the overall health and safety of yourself and all crew on site, as well as making sure the project is completed efficiently and on time. You will also hold a level of responsibility regarding training Labourers and Technicians, including on site discipline if necessary.
REQUIREMENTS & ASSETS:
- Level 2 WorkSafe BC Abatement Certificate is required.
- Moderate/High Risk Certificate.
- Must be clean shaven daily.
- Must be able to physically wear a varying level of respirators for long periods of time.
- Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
