Position: Student Recruitment Program Support Specialist
Reports to: Director, Student Recruitment
Length: Fixed Term; Full Time (12mo contract through to Mar 31, 2026)

Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Student Recruitment, the Program Support Specialist will support strategic initiatives and be instrumental in developing and delivering student recruitment programs that build awareness and interest in the CPA profession. This role will focus on creating engaging and impactful educational content for high school students and teachers. The Program Support Specialist will have the opportunity to design and implement new learning materials that inspire and inform students about accounting and the CPA profession. Additionally, this role will lead the development and rollout of CPABC’s refreshed brand ambassador program, which includes creating new learning initiatives, training materials, and managing the selection and onboarding of new volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Design & Delivery
- Design and manage student recruitment initiatives, including ambassador programs, an online learning resource centre, career-related curriculum, and resources for educators and teachers;
- Oversee the end-to-end program design process, from planning and execution, to tracking program outcomes and reporting progress;
- Guide the activities of assigned working groups by setting priorities, facilitating planning meetings, monitoring progress, and providing direction as needed;
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit, select, and onboard new volunteers who are passionate about supporting accounting education;
- Manage the volunteer application and selection process, including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and making recommendations to program leads;
Learning & Training Material Development
- Develop and maintain comprehensive training materials, including manuals, presentations, facilitator guides, and online resources, tailored to various learning styles and audience needs;
- Create and regularly update presentations to deliver current, relevant, and accessible content that supports students’ career development;
- Develop and/or work with subject matter experts to design and produce engaging video and animation content utilizing cutting-edge digital platforms to enhance learning experiences and online engagement;
- Coordinate and support volunteer training sessions, ensuring all volunteers are equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in their roles;
Project Coordination & Support
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and assessment of education projects funded by the CPABC’s Education Foundation, with a focus on promoting awareness of accounting careers;
- Partner with educators and subject matter experts to develop instructional resources, educational plans, and assessment tools that align with academic standards and advanced accounting education.
- Coordinate the development and distribution of curriculum materials, including videos and multimedia resources that facilitate student learning and understanding of accounting concepts;
- Manage information flow related to projects, ensuring clear and consistent communication with directors, team members, and stakeholders;
- Support the creation of teacher resources that help educators effectively introduce accounting principles and career pathways;
- Monitor project timelines, track progress, and provide regular updates on milestones and outcomes to ensure goals are met efficiently;
And other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Key Requirements:
Knowledge and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Business, Education, Human Resources, or a related field;
- Two (2) plus years of relevant experience in Learning Development, Instructional Design, Educational Program Development, or a similar role;
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and learning evaluation;
Demonstrated Skills and Abilities
- Experience in program design / instructional design and managing learning programs;
- Client-focused with the ability to build strong relationships and address the needs of internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision;
- Refined organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task;
- Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure;
- Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, with the ability to identify and address barriers, work with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design;
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with developing and/or overseeing volunteer programs;
- Skilled at guiding and motivating teams to meet objectives and deliver results within tight deadlines;
The starting annual salary for this position is $65,200 – 77,450 per annum, based on candidates’ qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
