Job Summary:
The Junior Safety Coordinator will assist in ensuring a safe working environment across all roofing job sites. This role involves implementing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and promoting a culture of safety among employees. The ideal candidate will be passionate about workplace safety and eager to develop their skills in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Assist in conducting pre-job safety instructions (PSI) and developing job hazards’ analysis (JHA) and safe work procedures
- Conduct regular safety inspections of job sites to identify and address potential hazards.
- Support toolbox talks and on-site safety meetings.
- Ensure compliance with CSA and other regulatory requirements.
- Document and report safety observations, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Maintain safety equipment and ensure proper use by team members.
- Assist in investigating accidents and near-misses to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to promote safety awareness.
- Stay updated on the latest safety regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional safety-related certifications are a plus.
- Passion for workplace safety and a willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of roofing or construction safety is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
