About the workplace
The Associate, Lending Services is responsible for the funding process for the Vancity Community Investment Bank team. They ensure all conditions precedent to funding are met and legal and security documents reviewed/in place pre/post-funding. The Associate will work closely with Account Managers, external solicitors, and clients throughout the process, and plays a pivotal role in building strong relationships with clients throughout the life of the loan, from onboarding to annual reviews.
This permanent, full-time role will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity Community Investment Bank head office location and your Ontario based home office. Periodically, in-person events or activities will be required of you.
A typical day will involve:
- Engage with clients to ensure timely receipt of annual review documents, meticulously review for completeness, and maintain reports/trackers to meet deadlines.
- Onboard new lending clients by obtaining and reviewing Know Your Client (KYC) documents, setting up online banking profiles, and inputting in loan system. Ensure any follow-up items are obtained in a timely manner to ensure alignment with compliance requirements.
- Manage new loan funding requests and construction draw requests, ensuring all conditions precedent to funding are met and legal/security documentation aligns with Credit approvals, both pre- and post-funding.
- Analyze project management reports to prepare construction draw requests and highlight potential issues or discrepancies to Account Manager.
- Assist VCIB Admin team with daily tasks and ad hoc projects when needed.

You Have
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in banking, commercial loan funding, and/or client service
- Proficient in commercial loan funding processes and requirements
- Experience with commercial construction projects and project management reporting is a bonus
- Strong communications skills (oral and written)
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities under tight timelines.
