Position Description

We are seeking a dynamic Clinical Research Project Coordinator to join our Division of Endocrinology team. This role will support groundbreaking research aimed at enhancing care and outcomes for pediatric and adolescent thyroid cancer patients through their transition to adult care and beyond.

The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple projects, adhere to strict protocols, and effectively coordinate between various stakeholders while maintaining high ethical and regulatory standards. Experience with medical registries, patient/community engagement and data management would be particularly relevant.

Here's What You'll Get To Do:

Study Management:

Coordinate activities across the multi-center clinical and research team
Monitor study timelines, maintain budgets and ensure compliance with financial reporting
Ensure adherence to study protocols and regulatory requirements including Research Ethics Board applications and Data Sharing Agreements
Manage REDCap clinical registry and prospective survivorship outcomes analysis
Develop a social media presence for study recruitment and communication with participants
Coordinate focus groups involving clinicians and patients to establish research priorities, data elements and engagement/sustainability strategies
Screen and recruit subjects, obtain informed consent, and initiate and maintain study files and research charts.
Co-supervise volunteers and graduate students and assist in training/orientation of new research staff

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Assist in database development, analysis of registry data and study results
Prepare presentations, progress reports, and scientific manuscripts

Collaboration:

Encourage and foster collaborative relationships with the healthcare team at SickKids, other participating centres, and patient advocacy groups
Support the coordination of the long-term follow-up initiative

Project Development:

Contribute to the design and implementation of new research initiatives
Assist in grant writing and funding applications

Here's What You'll Need:

MSc or equivalent
Graduate degree in health services research, epidemiology, public health or related field is an asset
Minimum 3-5 years research experience, specifically experience with patient-facing interactions and with prospectively collected health data (e.g., clinical trials, cohort studies, etc.)
Advanced computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and cloud computing (Zoom, REDCap, Microsoft365 and others)
Competence in data interpretation; knowledge of statistical and/or qualitative research software is an asset, but not required
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and time management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Ability to pay close attention to detail while maintaining view of the larger scope
Ability to function independently yet collaboratively within an interprofessional team
A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives

Employment Type:

The position is 1.0 full-time equivalent on an initial 1 year contract. Hybrid work from home/in-hospital. Occasional availability to be in-hospital in the morning by 8am to recruit patients in clinic/pre-op is needed.
