Position Summary
Project Coordinator - Digital Health
The Digital Health team at North York General Hospital (NYGH) is dedicated to advancing innovative healthcare solutions and enabling digital transformation. By applying project management best practices, we drive strategic initiatives that enhance patient care, improve operational efficiency, and foster collaboration across clinical, operational, and technical teams. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients, and families.
We are seeking a talented Project Coordinator – Digital Health to join our team. This role will primarily support Project UniPHI, a clinical transformation initiative, and the hospital’s growing AI portfolio. These projects aim to digitize processes, optimize workflows, and ensure responsible adoption of cutting-edge technologies that align with NYGH’s strategic goals.
About Project UniPHI
You will play a key role in Project UniPHI, an enterprise-wide clinical transformation initiative. This project focuses on digitizing critical processes such as documentation, order entry, and scheduling across NYGH’s outpatient clinics. A major component includes transitioning Oncology clinics from OPIS (Oncology Patient Information System) to Oracle’s Oncology Module, improving integration and patient outcomes.
On a practical level, you will
- Be responsible for supporting and planning and implementation of Information Services and strategic organizational projects
- Organize and facilitate project-related meetings, develop project reports and maintain project plans, presentations, statistics and other related documents, as required
- Build and maintain relationships with all project partners and provide effective written and verbal communication
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and invitations for working groups and project touch-bases
- Coordinate and support execution of approved projects activities to meet needs of stakeholders
- Track project related deliverables and maintain an active list identifying status and next steps
- Support the Digital Health leadership team with varied administrative and project management tasks
- Support the development of materials, such as reports, briefing notes, business cases, requests for proposals, presentations, and communications for the project
- Be responsible for helping and support evolve North York General Hospital’s Project Management methodology
- During critical times of any project implementation, you may be required to work off-hours and/or non-business hours
- Work with clinical and business groups to identify, validate, and document business requirements.
- Support workflow review and process redesign, supporting continuous improvement processes.
- Conduct environmental scans to assess trends and identify actionable insights in healthcare technology.
- Supporting the development of innovative AI projects, such as clinical decision support tools and automated administrative processes, to optimize workflows and enhance outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Computer Science, Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in project coordination or as a project analyst.
- Experience in healthcare and/or community support services is preferred .
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship management and community engagement skills .
- Bilingualism in French/English is an asset.
