Centre of English Studies is a leading and established English Second Language school and is a member of Languages Canada and the International Association of Language Centres. Centre of English Studies Toronto is currently seeking qualified applicants for the role of Student Experience Coordinator.
General Description
The Student Experience Coordinator (Yellow Shirt) selects appropriate activities for a cross-cultural range of students aged 16+. The Coordinator plans, organizes, coordinates and leads events and trips, establishes a budget, adheres to loss prevention, co-ordinates the intake of payments and provides a final cost analysis for each activity.
The Events Coordinator connects with students to understand their interests, reviews feedback from students and determines appropriate measures to ensure the success of future activities.
The Coordinator also assists in the academic operations and promotion of the school with administrative tasks and marketing material creation.
The main tasks the Coordinator is responsible for include:
- the leadership of engaging, organized activities and excursions
- the safety of all participants
- promoting upcoming events and increasing student engagement
- communications and negotiations with venues and suppliers
- ticket sales, cash collection and budget management
- outstanding customer service and student support
- photography and videography at school events
- content and management of social media accounts
- creation of articles, photos and videos for school marketing material
- Qualifications:
Experience required and educational background preferably in the travel/tourism, recreational, physical education or ESL industry. Public relations/event planning background is also a plus.
The chosen applicant will show a great deal of energy, creativity and resourcefulness. Leadership, public speaking and intercultural communication are also required in this position, so it is well-suited to a confident and empathetic individual. The Coordinator has problem solving and troubleshooting skills to deal with unforeseen circumstances.
Experience with handling cash, photography, digital movie editing, article writing and social media would also be an asset.
Work schedule: Full-time, variable hours, must be able to work days, evenings and weekends
Compensation: Salary of $36-40k, depending on experience
