Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $32.59 - $37.26 per hour (Start rate non-negotiable)
Shifts: All Shifts 24/7
Status: Temporary Full Time (until April 2025)

As a valued member of Team LMP, you will play a key role in providing high quality services to clinical, laboratory, and research professionals.
Duties
- Manipulate and process specimens as per laboratory protocols
- Specimen storage and disposal
- Operate laboratory equipment and perform equipment maintenance
- documents specimen errors or problems, reports/corrects errors where possible and according to procedure
- Organize and arrange transport of specimens
- Practice and provide patient centered care
- Use hospital information systems to access and document procedures
- Participates in training of staff
- Maintain safe working environment and comply with IPAC
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12, or recognized equivalent
- Graduate of a post-secondary Laboratory Technician or Laboratory Assistant certificate program, or recognized equivalent required
- OSMT (Ontario Society of Medical Technologists) or CSMLS license, preferred
- Minimum one (1) year related work experience in a laboratory setting required
- Minimum one (1) year recent work experience in anatomic pathology, required
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory equipment maintenance and operation
- Effective organizational, time management skills and prioritization skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of appropriate behaviour required working successfully in a diverse work group.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Procedures in a laboratory
- Computer literate in Windows based applications
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions
