We are looking for a Material Handler to join our dynamic Material Management team at Trench Canada's Coil Division located in Scarborough. This is a unionized position.
Your Tasks:
- Responsible for all physical and virtual aspects of receiving, shipping and material handling supporting various TCC warehouse and operation locations.
- Loading and offloading on transport conveyances using various Powered Industrial Trucks and equipment.
- Maintain certification to operate overhead crane, forklifts and scissor lift. Certified and experienced with operation of various Powered Industrial Trucks Adherence to departmental SOP’s and risk assessments.
- Ensure inventory traceability, labeling, storage, staging, and issuance of materials and assets for various production processes are performed safely and efficiently.
- Monitor vendor management, coordinating removal of scrap materials, waste bins, and hazardous waste.
- Conduct and report on shipping, receiving and storage of dangerous goods.
- Inventory tracking and reporting.
- Coordinate interplant shipments of inventory for various production processes.
- Deliver incoming and staging materials to proper storage locations or employees.
- Manage Resin and Argon delivery for entire plant.
- Perform Kanban, inventory counts and related SAP adjustments for inventory reconciliation.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or designate.
Requirements:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent.Courses / certificates in materials management an asset. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point and SharePoint)
- Intermediate knowledge of SAP MM related to purchase orders, material transfers, inventory, and reporting.
- Ability to pass test and maintain certification to operate overhead crane, forklift and scissor lift. Certified and experienced with the operation of various lift trucks.
- A safety and quality conscious approach while performing work duties are required.
- Ability to work well in a team environment is required.
- Candidate must have the ability to verbally communicate, read and write fluently in English in order to follow verbal instructions and written documentation related to the position and the workplace, as well as complete any required paperwork.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse processes and procedures is an asset.
- Ability to work in multiple environments with seasonal weather conditions often outside
- Rotating day/afternoon/evening shiftwork
- Hours of work: Able to work on a 3-shift rotation as required.
