Job Description
We are currently seeking a contract Analyst to join the Expense Operation (EO) team within the Corporate Services group of the Technology and Operations department. This team is responsible for expense processing across all CPPIB global offices and supports the Finance department with general ledger accounting functions.
Job Summary
The candidate will handle expenses including invoices, vendor onboarding, and expense-related journal entries to ensure operating expense transactions are accurate and in a timely manner. The candidate will collaborate with other EO team members, various departments throughout the organization, and external stakeholders.
Accountabilities
- Support the daily operations of the centralized global expense processing and payments for CPP Investments in accordance with policies and procedures. This includes maintaining the master vendor record, and processing of vendor invoices.
- Coordinate with third-party accounting service providers to ensure accounting records are accurately reflected for outsourced CPP Investments’ global offices.
- Assist in recording month-end journal entries, expense accruals, intercompany transactions, and reconciliation in an effective and timely manner.
- Actively participate in the organization- wide roll out for the Source-to-Pay project.
- Work with Finance groups to provide supporting analysis/documents/inputs into month-end close, tax filing, management reporting, and financial reporting.
- Assist stakeholders on expense-related matters; respond to stakeholder and auditor queries on a timely basis.
- Promote the use and understanding of accounts payable policies, systems and procedures to the team and other stakeholders across the organization, including the development of training materials.
- Partner collaboratively with finance and other internal stakeholders to resolve cross-functional issues and gaps. Propose and implement solutions that reflect an understanding of business needs, organizational impact and governance and controls.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; aptitude and interest in learning new software applications.
- Experience with Oracle Financials and 3-way matching invoice processing is an asset.
- Highly organized, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet timelines.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder management.
- Analytical skills and the ability to the think through problems, assess a variety of factors, and recommend solutions.
