You will:
- develop, test, and implement business processes, systems and procedures to collect, analyze, and consolidate financial information from school boards, into the province's annual budget, quarterly reporting, fall economic statements and Public Accounts
- evaluate and develop policy options, proposals, and recommendations to address policy matters such as capital asset reporting, code of accounts, compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards and ministry reporting requirements
- conduct research on accounting standards, and develop training/resource materials to assist the implementation of new accounting standards in the education sector
You have demonstrated knowledge of/experience with:
- relevant financial and accounting principles (e.g. Public Sector Accounting Board [PSAB]), policies, standards and best practices related to financial planning and budget development, accrual accounting, modern controllership, and financial reporting/control
- large-scale financial reporting systems to perform information analysis and prepare complex reports
- development, testing and implementation of business processes, systems and procedures (e.g. modification to EFIS, IFIS)
You have:
- demonstrated knowledge of quantitative analysis methods (e.g. business, economic, statistical, accounting, financial) to analyze and interpret data/information and produce financial reports
- problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop recommendations and solutions
You have:
- verbal and written communication skills to prepare and present financial reports and recommendations
- presentation skills to deliver training sessions and clearly communicate technical information
- consultation and advisory skills to advise management and other stakeholders on financial and business issues and to work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders
