You will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive quality assurance program for ongoing track construction projects throughout the subway system. The incumbent is responsible for developing, co-ordinating and participating in quality assurance checks. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to provide frontline engineering support to the night shift (e.g. regarding an installation issue) and/or carry out a variety of technical inspections and projects as required.
This involves:
- Developing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive quality assurance program for all track construction work throughout the subway system.
- Monitoring the quality control of the track construction and rehabilitation projects.
- Assisting the Track Maintenance & Rehabilitation Supervisor with the administration of track construction activities
As a TTC employee you are responsible for treating passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (if applicable and within their area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service provider and an employer and you will also be participating in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.

- Apply analytical skills
- You are a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario;
- Your educational background in Civil, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline;
- Your application demonstrates several years of related work experience in inspection and/or management of construction projects;
- Your application shows sound knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and practices as well as relevant federal and provincial standards and regulations, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act (both Construction and Industrial Regulations), WHMIS, etc.;
- You must have demonstrated experience in construction inspection and/or quality assurance;
- Highly developed computer skills and knowledge of software applications related to the work is essential;
- Must have or quickly acquire a detailed knowledge of TTC Track Standards along with an understanding of Railroad Engineering Principles;
- Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management;
- Must possess sound judgement; good organizational, administrative, interpersonal, verbal communication and technical report writing skills; excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
