The Opportunity
VoPay is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business and Sales Development Representative operating within the marketing team bridge the gap between marketing-generated leads and the sales pipeline. Their primary responsibility is to manage, qualify, and nurture inbound and outbound leads to create a consistent flow of high-quality opportunities for the sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
#### Inbound Lead Management
- Ensure timely follow-up on all marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) generated from campaigns, content downloads, event registrations, and website inquiries.
- Use tools like CRM and marketing automation platforms to prioritize high-intent leads.
- Conduct discovery calls or email outreach to assess lead quality based on specific qualification criteria
- For leads not yet ready to convert, enter them into nurturing campaigns with tailored follow-up sequences.
- Share targeted resources such as case studies, product demos, and relevant blog content to maintain engagement.
- Document all relevant lead information (needs, challenges, and decision-making authority) in the CRM before passing it to the sales team.
- Collaborate with sales to ensure a smooth transition.
#### Outbound Prospecting
- Work with the marketing team to identify and build a list of target accounts and personas for outbound campaigns.
- Use tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and intent data platforms to source accurate contact information.
- Develop personalized email sequences and scripts for cold calls.
- Use insights from marketing campaigns to tailor outreach messaging (e.g., referencing attended webinars or downloaded content).
- Execute multi-channel outreach using email, phone, LinkedIn, and social media.
- Track and optimize outreach cadences based on response rates and engagement metrics.
- Collaborate with marketing on account-specific campaigns, targeting high-value accounts with personalized messaging and assets.
#### Collaboration with Marketing
- Share qualitative and quantitative feedback on lead quality with the marketing team to optimize targeting and campaigns.
- Identify common objections or challenges faced during outreach and work with marketing to address them through content or campaigns.
- Leverage marketing assets such as white papers, webinars, and case studies during the sales process.
- Provide input to marketing on what content resonates most with prospects.
- Contact leads generated from events such as trade shows, webinars, or hosted dinners.
- Qualify and pass event-related leads to the sales team.
- Log all interactions and updates in the CRM system to maintain accurate lead records.
- Track lead progress through the funnel to ensure follow-ups occur on schedule.
- Generate weekly reports on lead management and outbound activities
Qualifications
- Proven Experience: 3+ years of demonstrated success in BDR, SDR or a similar role.
- Financial Technology Knowledge: Experience with financial technology or software applications is a plus.
- You’ve got a competitive attitude, even better if you’ve got previous experience crushing a sales quota or hitting measurable goals
- You’ve got great energy that people gravitate toward and strong communication skills both oral and written
- Experience using tools such as HubSpot, Sales Navigator, or another similar tech is an advantage
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced mid-level startup environment

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
