What You’ll Do
Job Description Summary:
The Portfolio Intern is responsible for servicing the First Portfolio product and other ad hoc Credit Risk duties. The role will primarily provide Portfolio brokers with the appropriate level of support to manage their premium finance book of business as well as support the generation of overflow business within FIRST Canada’s portfolio. The role requires participation in projects aimed at evolving and growing the Portfolio product. A passion for working with insurance brokers and providing best in class customer service are the keys to being successful in this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Where appropriate, support Portfolio brokers with quote creation, loan submission, positive and negative endorsements, bank files, reports
- Request approvals from the Portfolio Administrator when requests fall outside of pre-approved Portfolio terms
- Manage the recovery process for Portfolios
- Issue notices to applicable parties
- Provide support with Portfolio overflow business
- All other support necessary for the administration of a Portfolio and or
- Credit Risk duties as assigned.
- Participate in projects aimed at further developing and refining the Portfolio offering
- UAT Testing
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous financial processing, customer service and/or administration experience
- A proactive, energetic and enthusiastic approach to your work
- Self-motivation, strong attention to detail and ability to work with strict deadlines
- The ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers
- Quality focused with strong organizational and abstract reasoning skills
- Innovative problem solving skills with ability to multitask
- A flexible attitude towards change and the ability to adapt to new situations
- Knowledge of Outlook, Excel and MS Word
- **Bilingual French/English would be a strong asset**
Training/ Education/ Experience Qualifications
- College or University student preferred
- 0-3 years of work experience, preferably with the Financial Services
