Job Description
We are seeking an Analyst, Acquisitions to join our team.
This is a rare early-career opportunity to work within private markets M&A and learn M&A work as part of a motivated and high-performance team responsible for due diligence and analysis of prospective partner firms in the financial services industry.
Working directly with diligence project leads, you will ensure that work progresses at an appropriate pace and take the lead on first drafts of most analyses and deliverables. Additionally, you will work with relevant stakeholders and support post-closing action items such as reporting, accounting, and integration hand-offs, leveraging the understanding of the prospective partner firms gained during diligence. The successful candidate will require strong attention to detail, organizational, project management, and analytical skills.
The Analyst, Acquisitions will:
- Initiate the preparation of documents, notes, analyses (both quantitative and qualitative), forecasts, financial models, and various reports communicating findings.
- Closely support the preparation of comprehensive and final reports related to diligence results and integration support.
- Closely support the managers of diligence projects to ensure timely progress.
- Timely tracking and communication with various stakeholders related to exchange of information associated with the diligence work effort.
- Coordinate logistics related to diligence projects as required.
- Coordinate and support additional resources/teams and involved in diligence project, both internal and external.
T o be successful as an Analyst, Acquisitions with People Corporation, you will need :
- Command of MS Office suite, in particular Excel and its data management and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in all forms, while tailoring communication medium, framing, and message to audience.
- Attention to detail and appreciation of granular, nuanced analysis supported by data.
- Ability to advance multiple workstreams under tight timelines while maintaining quality of work product.
- Willingness to work in excess of standard working hours to accomplish individual and collective goals and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Understanding of (or ability to learn/base knowledge to understand) high-level finance and/or accounting concepts such as free cash flow/EBITDA, one-time v. recurring items, net working capital, and similar.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of highly sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Ability to thrive in and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic environment with continuously evolving priorities.
- Ability to follow a structured process to ensure consistency while exercising professional judgement to deviate from the standard process where appropriate to meet the core purpose.
- Ability to coalesce incomplete or inconsistent information of various types (qualitative and quantitative) and from different sources/formats to perform best-possible analyses and draw useful conclusions.
All-star candidates will have:
- Demonstrated knowledge base in accounting or finance.
- Enrollment in or demonstrable ambition to obtain CFA, CPA, CBV, MBA, or similar.
- Experience in retail financial services distribution
- French language proficiency.
