The West Vancouver Community Services Department is currently accepting applications for experienced Casual Skating Instructors/Attendants. These positions instruct and evaluate individuals learning to skate, from basic to more advanced skills.
The successful candidates will have previous experience teaching or coaching basic skate lessons, hockey, or figure skating. Duties also include report card writing and incident report writing. The ability to be creative and fun while working with people and excellent customer service, communication, organizational and program planning skills are needed. Instructors should also be able to demonstrate and follow a lesson plan based on the skating levels and progressions. Applicants should enjoy varied tasks and an energetic and exciting workplace, and must have Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED Certificate issued by a recognized Canadian body.

2024 Rates of Pay for each position:
- Junior Skate Instructor/Attendant - $18.10 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits.
- Skate Instructor I/Attendant - $22.09 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits.
- Skate Instructor II/Attendant - $24.36 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits.
These positions have a pay structure with two steps which increases based on the number of hours worked in the position.
