Recipe is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. This position is responsible for analyzing construction project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of restaurant construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction estimating, a strong understanding of restaurant design and building requirements, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
What you will do in this role:
- Estimate Preparation: Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for restaurant construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Takeoffs: Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine scope of work and requirements
- Cost Analysis: Research and analyze current construction costs and trends in the restaurant industry to ensure competitive and realistic estimates
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, designers, project managers, contractors, and vendors to gather project information, clarify design details, and ensure alignment between the estimate and the final project scope
- Bid Evaluation: Support the review and evaluation of bids from contractors and suppliers to ensure pricing is competitive and aligns with the project budget
- Budget Development: Assist in the development of project budgets and track costs throughout the construction process, ensuring adherence to estimates and budget constraints
- Project Management Support: Provide ongoing support to project managers by providing updated estimates as changes occur
- Standards: Create, organize, and maintain prototypes budgets by Brand and building model
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports and updates on the status of estimates, budgets, and any changes or challenges that may arise
What we are looking for from you:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably with a focus on restaurant, retail, or hospitality projects
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
- Excellent understanding of construction materials, methods, and procedures
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and restaurant-specific design requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Proficiency with Google platform software, Bluebeam and knowledge of Smartsheets Project Management software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- High attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation and project analysis
