What You’ll Be Doing
CIBC Capital Markets provides corporate, government, and institutional clients with innovative solutions to help them raise capital, and grow and invest actively throughout North America, Latin America, and key financial centres around the world. Our mission is to bring Canadian Capital Markets products to Canada and the rest of the world, and also bring the world to Canada.
CIBC Capital Markets Investment Banking group provides equity and debt underwriting as well as corporate finance advisory services to corporations. CIBC’s Investment Banking group of professionals are dedicated specifically to advising clients on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, hostile takeovers, buyouts, takeover defense and restructurings. There is an extensive amount of interaction with other groups within the firm in order to provide clients with customized financing and advisory solutions.
The role of an Associate within CIBC’s Investment Banking group is challenging and fast-paced. As an Associate on our Global Investment Banking team you will be making a real difference to our clients by helping to provide customized financing and advisory solutions. You will be expected to provide a broad range of analytical, research and presentation preparation support to all the professionals within the group as well as mentoring the group’s analysts. With offices located in Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia, our Global Investment Banking group provides equity and debt underwriting as well as corporate finance advisory services to corporations and institutions through several industry and product groups. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a group of professionals ranging from Analysts to Managing Directors who are dedicated to advising clients on infrastructure and project finance and mergers and acquisitions.

- You must be currently enrolled in a MBA or Master’s program in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics or a related program with a graduation date no sooner than December 2025. Please indicate your expected graduation date on your resume.

How You'll Succeed
- Project management ̶ Assist in analyzing and developing proposals to clients and potential clients for mergers, asset or company divestitures or acquisitions, and other financial products and advisory services. Prepare industry and financial analysis to determine client recommendations
- Relationship building ̶ Participate in cross-functional teams and liaise with other units of CIBC Capital Markets in executing mandates or preparing proposals for clients
- Research and analytics ̶ Lead a broad range of analytical, research and presentation preparation support to the team including preparing of offering memoranda and marketing materials along with industry comparables and precedent transaction analyses.
