About Residence At Humber
Residence is dedicated to enriching life at Humber by delivering inclusive, innovative, and industry-leading services. Guided by a commitment to a student-centered experience, we strive to create an environment where every interaction enhances the vibrancy of our community.
With just over 1,750 bed spaces across two campuses and five buildings, our self-operated residence provides a supportive home-away-from-home for students throughout the academic year and summer. We operate 24/7, nearly 365 days a year, ensuring students have access to safe, affordable housing and the support they need to thrive. The December midyear break offers a unique opportunity for our team to take a brief pause, recharging before we welcome students and staff back to our vibrant community for the remainder of the academic year.
Within Residence Services, our dedicated team oversees key portfolios: Residence Admissions, Residence Operations, Front Desk & Summer Operations, and Residence Life. Together, we deliver exceptional service and foster a connected, inclusive, and thriving living environment.
About The Residence Services Assistant Role
Under the guidance of the Senior Administrator, Front Desk Operations, the Residence Services Assistant supports the operation of Front Desk services for students during the academic year and conference services during the summer months. The Residence Services Assistant maintains up-to-date student and guest information using appropriate software applications; acts as the main information resource for students, guests, conference guests, and contractors; and directs calls, visitors, and contractors to the right place or staff person. Effective ongoing communication with the conference team, residence administrative staff, residence assistants, and maintenance and housekeeping staff is essential in ensuring guest and student/guest service standards are met. This position signs in contractors and guests, ensures residents show their residence card upon entry, and distributes mail. During mandatory staff training, hours may vary.
