Perkins&Will Vancouver is hiring a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist for an 18-month contract. This role involves processing employee time sheets, expense claims, vendor reconciliations, and credit card transactions. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of accounting experience, strong MS Excel skills, and the ability to work independently. There is potential for growth into project accounting and support for month-end reconciliations and accounts receivable tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Employee time sheet and expense claim processing
- Accounts payable processing and vendor statement reconciliations (low volume)
- Larger volume credit card reconciliations
- Processes payments for vendors, consultants, and employee expense claims
- Accounts receivable – bank deposits, posting receipts, prepare periodic A/R reports
- Assisting with month-end account reconciliations
- Able to work and interact with departments throughout the organization
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Potential for growth into project accounting activities
High-level Summary Of Critical, Baseline Technical Skills And Certifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2+ years accounting / bookkeeping experience
- Comfortable with MS Office, especially MS Excel, and aptitude for learning other software
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform routine duties meticulously
- Proven accurate data entry
- Organized and communicative
- Independent and flexible in nature
- Experience with project, or time-based billings an asset
- Experience with payroll an asset
- Experience with Deltek accounting software an asset
- Should we add an education qualification? I’d say accounting courses / diploma / degree an asset.
Licensure/Certifications/Education
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related degree is preferred
