Position Overview The Business Development Executive is tasked with discovering and pursuing new business prospects, establishing and nurturing client relationships, and propelling the company's growth within existing customer base. This role will serve as a key part of the sales organization, focused on uncovering new business and creating qualified sales opportunities for our Regional Territory Managers (RTM). Furthermore, this role entails conducting market research, developing and implementing sales strategies, and executing plans in coordination with RTMs to expand our company’s customer base and improve territory coverage ratio by cultivating relationships with new and existing customers, generating new sales leads, initiating exploratory calls with prospective customers, and supporting territory activity.
Essential Job Duties
- Qualifies and nurtures sales by contacting potential and existing customers to define and clarify sales opportunities; reports and maintains the customer data in the Customer Relations Management (CRM) database.
- Drives revenues by engaging in regional sales activities including processing new sales leads, executing inbound and outbound phone calls and effectively responding to customer inquiries, requests and complaints.
- Partners with Customer Experience, the Regional Sales Directors and the General Manager to support and drive regional sales territories to meet and exceed sales quotas and other goals and objectives, as may be assigned.
- Covers vacant and unassigned sales territories and collaborates with regional sales personnel to achieve sales productivity gains through improved acquisition, growth and customer retention.
- Maintains records of all customer interactions, business transactions and sales process input in the CRM database; provides content direction for future sales call planning across the integrated "One DFH" customer team.
- Meets and exceeds monthly and quarterly sales and productivity objectives including, but not limited to, call and order volume, revenue targets, sales and unit growth and other performance metrics that may be assigned.
- Develops and demonstrates the knowledge and proficiency required for successful sales performance by participating in training and other educational workshops and by studying relevant Company and industry publications.
- Displays initiative and commitment, successfully completes projects and assignments in a timely manner, identifies critical sales activities and tasks and adjusts priorities to meet the Company's goals and objectives.
- Participates in sales meetings, conferences, trade shows and other professional sessions, as requested.
- Use prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach with customers purchasing less than $500/month.
- Research and develop a database of potential leads through online resources, cold calling. Make 25 calls each day resulting in 4-6 scheduled quality engagements for RTMs
- Establish contact with potential leads and introduce them to the company’s products or services to determine the prospect’s interest in supplement sales
- Build rapport with potential leads and establish trust to encourage them to do business with the company, and networking.
- Cultivate relationships, schedule discovery meetings for sales representatives and prospects, and fill the pipeline for the sales team.
- Keep track of all interactions with potential leads with detailed notes in the company’s customer relationship management system
- Update the status of each lead in the customer relationship management system on a regular basis
- Submit tracking of account growth and appointment setting to supervisor on a weekly basis
- Achieve higher territory growth in comparison to national average
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with 2+ years of successful inside/outside sales experience, preferably in the nutritional, pharmaceutical and/or medical products/devices industry.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and customer-focused orientation.
- Successful experience in telesales prospecting and developing new business opportunities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Ability to learn, apply and retain product specific information and ISR role competencies/skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel) and CRM database (e.g.
- NetSuite, Salesforce).
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to travel, as required.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
