Reporting to the Executive Director and under the direct supervision of the Marketing and Communications Manager, the position is responsible for visual branding, art direction, and design layouts of CPCO’s publications, communications, and marketing projects and materials. It is also responsible for troubleshooting, managing, and customizing CPCO’s website and database.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 along with a competitive benefit package
Hybrid: Up to 2 days working remotely

Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Graphic Design and/or Computer Science
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Graphic and Website Design.
- Extensive knowledge of WordPress, HTML, CSS, iQuery and JavaScript
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
Desirable
- Familiarity with iMIS Platform and Database considered an asset
- Familiarity with copyright policies and AI tools/software
- Familiarity with magazine layouts and production considered an asset
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Graphic Design
- In consultation and collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Manager, the incumbent develops the art direction and design concepts for CPCO.
- Consults and collaborates with Editors, Advertisers, the Marketing and Communications Manager, and the Executive Director three times per year regarding art direction and production for the Principal Connections Magazine.
- Develops concepts and design layouts for publications and marketing materials, including, but not limited to, booklets, brochures, flyers, signage, pamphlets, handouts, inserts, logos, and advertisements.
- Responsible for the art direction and production of CPCO campaigns, events and projects.
- Ideate, capture and create graphics and video content for social media platforms.
Web Design
- Designs visual imagery and layout concepts for the website and ensures consistency with CPCO’s image.
- Designs website tabs, pages, controls, and buttons for the website.
- Utilizes web applications and programming languages and writes code for the website.
- Identifies, troubleshoots and fixes functionality and usability issues and errors.
- Assists CPCO staff and Associates with website-related requests; troubleshoots, fixes, and submits tickets to website consultants and contractors as required.
General Duties
- Responds to internal/external inquiries/requests via telephone and e-mail.
- Attends Marketing and Communications department meetings.
- Occasional onsite event day support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibility for Records
- Organizes and maintains all marketing, communications, materials, and documents/records.
- Add design and production dates to the Marketing and Communications calendar.
- Maintains records and logs of website tickets, resolution and schedule.
- Creates and generates reports as requested.
Interview and Selection Process
In-person interviews will be held on Wednesday, December 11th and Thursday, December 12th.
Pre-Assignments:
- Recreate a webpage using HTML and CSS (website URL to be provided to shortlisted candidates)
- Design a two-page magazine spread (article to be provided to shortlisted candidates)
