The
Benefits Analyst will provide group benefits consulting support, including design and financial management for existing Group Solutions large and small clients and prospects. The Benefits Analyst will work closely with internal consulting teams, interface with vendors, support client deliverables, and ensure quality standards are met. This position is well suited to someone with an Actuarial background.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the overall design and management of group medical, dental, life, disability and special risk benefits for clients.
- Assist with annual renewal analysis and negotiations with carriers; prepare client reports and presentations
- Conduct experience reporting, budget projections and reviewing plan financial performance
- Review financial statements for accuracy and adherence to underwriting agreements
- Conduct marketings by preparing and submitting specifications, analysis, cost comparisons, recommendations, preparing report
- Gather data and determine cost impact for plan design changes
- Monitor carrier/provider services standards
- Support the consulting team in preparing documents for client presentations and meetings
Other responsibilities may also include, as needed:
- Conduct plan design benchmarking studies
- Review all benefits documentation (contracts, booklets, collective agreement, amendments) for accuracy
- Prepare/review master application and all other documentation for new sales submissions
- Monitor implementation process to ensure deadlines met, questions answered, all forms completed to meet effective date.
- Prepare detailed plan design documents using excel template and update when required
To be successful in the Benefits Analyst role, you will need:
- Minimum 1 years experience in group benefits
- Knowledge of Canadian benefits industry and group benefits
- Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel, Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Drive to manage and prioritize competing demands to meet client and company needs
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sensitivity to confidential information
