Burson is seeking a Research Analyst to join our Data & Intelligence team in Canada. This role presents a unique opportunity to apply and grow your analytical research skills across a range of areas, including statistical programming, quantitative and qualitative research methods, media and social media analysis, data analytics and data visualization.
Our work involves the intersection of many people with a wide range of skills within our Data & Intelligence team and across our client teams. Your data management, programming and analytics expertise will be a crucial function within our projects, often acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical team members.
There are always interesting projects to work on thanks to Burson’s diverse base of influential clients, including global brands. This role can be based in Ottawa or Toronto and will be a mix of in-office and remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Data analysis: Building and running R scripts to process survey data and media monitoring data that will feed into our client reports / dashboards (Power BI, Displayr, PowerPoint).
- Data visualization and reporting: Helping to design and maintain our media intelligence and market research reports/dashboards.
- Operational analytics: Your expertise will also be applied to evaluating the “business of the business” where you will get to work with data from other Burson teams (e.g., finance, operations, people & culture).
Technical Experience & Skills
- Most of our statistically programming is built in R. Strong preference will be given to candidates with intermediate skill in R. Key responsibilities will be script writing, data cleaning, analysis, tidyverse.
- We use a variety of platforms for reporting and visualization including Power BI, PowerPoint, and Displayr. Previous experience with these platforms is an asset.
- Statistics, quantitative data analysis (qualitative data analysis and report writing are assets)
- Experience communicating statistical concepts (e.g., segmentation analysis, weighting, regression) to non-technical audiences.
- Two-to-three years of experience in market research or public opinion research or survey research or media intelligence, or a related field. Some of this experience can come from post-secondary programs.
