Position Summary
Toronto Rehab, a leading rehabilitation research and care facility, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Furlan. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and educators to develop and update materials for guideline implementation. The candidate will gain skills in implementation science, continuing medical education, and the appropriate use of opioids for chronic non-cancer pain.
Duties
- Coordinate the activities to update an online course for opioid prescribers in Canada
- Collaborate with experts to ensure the course content is evidence-based and meets educational standards
- Develop instructional materials, including presentations, handouts, and online modules
- Coordinate with the instructional design team to ensure effective delivery of course content
- Assist in the writing and editing of manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings to support manuscript development
- Collaborate with research teams to ensure timely submission of manuscripts
- Support the preparation of grant applications, including drafting sections, reviewing proposals, and ensuring alignment with funding agency guidelines
- Assist in identifying funding opportunities relevant to the research team's work
- Collaborate with the team to develop project budgets and timelines for grant proposals
Qualifications
- PhD must be obtained within the previous 5 years in a relevant field (e.g., Clinical Epidemiology, Public Health, Medical Education, Pharmacy, or Medical Sciences)
- Strong background in course development and instructional design
- Proven experience in academic writing, particularly in manuscript and grant preparation
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
