We are looking for a
Data Analyst to join our Toronto based
Investment Data Management team.
The Investment Data Management Team (IDM) resides within the middle office and is responsible for managing data centric processes and data quality that supports the investment management business. Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group Ltd. (CCLFG) manages a wide range of global assets and heavily relies on the output of the DMT for a variety of functions from the front office to the back. This is a Toronto based role, which offers a flexibility between working from home and the office.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role operates in a unique position, working closely with front office traders, investment managers and a wide range of investment-operation business unit in the middle and back-office. You will use your financial and technical knowledge, to provide critical investment data inputs to the whole investment operations process. Our analysts are empowered to thrive as process owners, with both the creativity and responsibility that comes with delegation. Our
team continuously strives to identify improvements to operations to scale and grow with the business; you will work highly collaboratively with your team members and dedicated development teams to execute.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Security Master: Maintain and validate accuracy of equity/fixed income/derivative data across multiple systems/databases to enable Investment Manager modeling, trading, and risk monitoring.
- Process Manager: Manage and enable a myriad of scheduled processes for vendor systems, internal and market data transfers, valuation, and benchmarking data inputs to the investment process.
- Data Quality Expert: Deliver timely data signoffs to investment teams; develop and analyze data-quality exceptions and ensure timely resolution.
- Stakeholder Servicer: Provide analysis on operational needs, ad-hoc data/data-history requests for multiple business partners to support pre- and post-trade portfolio management functions.
- Process Improver: Identify process/workflow improvements to increase operational efficiency, mitigate risk, improve data-quality, and increase service levels provided to stakeholders.
- Supporter of other operational or engineering staff, senior or managers on a variety of ad-hoc tasks and projects.
About You
- Education – You have a degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Business Operations, or a related field. Relevant designation, such as the MBA, CFA, or FRM is an asset.
- Industry Knowledge – Some experience in the investment management industry with exposure to equity, fixed income, and/or derivatives would be ideal. 1-2 years would be an asset.
- Problem Solver / Technical – You possess an analytical mindset and able to break down complex processes into components to logically deduce the root cause of issues in data and technology.
- Collaborative – You have a collaborative spirit that helps you to work well with others and you communicate effectively to team/cross-team members, and upward to key stakeholders.
- Self-Motivated – You have a passion for advancing the quality, scale, and efficiency of data processes and can take ownership of multiple processes with keen attention to detail.
- Continuous Process Improvement Mindset – You constantly take a critical eye to processes with the goal of finding improvement opportunities and bring an ability to manage multiple projects.
This position is renumerated by annual salary. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
