Interested in joining a growing team focused on how environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues are addressed at the companies in which CC&LFG affiliates invest? We are looking for a
Stewardship & Engagement Analyst to join our Vancouver-based Stewardship & Engagement team. The Stewardship & Engagement team is focused on ESG issues (e.g., climate risk, diversity and human rights) and works closely with the investment teams on active ownership activities such as company engagements, voting and collaborative initiatives with other investors and advocacy organizations.
What You Will Do
- Conduct engagement with companies and other stakeholders on material ESG matters
- Support with development of engagement agendas and plans for specified companies, utilizing CC&L’s stewardship & engagement policies, in collaboration with the investment team
- Carrying out ESG and climate/environmental related research to support engagement activities
- Assist with the execution, analysis, and reporting of proxy votes
- Collate the information and contribute to external reporting, such as annual UN PRI reporting and client reporting
- Support with training to business on ESG and responsible investing
- Respond to ad hoc requests from the portfolio management teams
What You Bring
- 1-3 years of experience in asset management or a related field, preferably performing an ESG, responsible investing, stewardship & engagement, or related role
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Commerce, Sustainability or Political Science and a genuine interest in the investment industry.
- Experience or familiarity with UN PRI, TCFD disclosure, Climate Action 100+, Climate Engagement Canada, responsible investing service providers and other responsible investing initiatives is considered an asset
- You can articulate yourself well both verbally and in writing and can collaborate with others to solve complex problems
- Sound judgment, detail-oriented, and experience working on multiple initiatives/projects concurrently
- You are a sharp, ambitious, and enthusiastic person who is able to work under pressure and drive change
The salary range for this position is $65,000 – $75,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
