Position Overview
Aecon Foundations is a leader in the Canadian Foundations industry. From shoring systems to foundation piling of all types; Aecon Foundations brings the Aecon advantage to all of our market sectors and acts as a strong partner from project initiation, design development, field testing and execution.
Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager or designate, the
Project Coordinator plays an essential role in project execution. This dynamic role is focused on working within the project management team in developing and maintaining schedules, managing labour, equipment, subcontractors, materials, customer relations, engineering, contract management, project controls, change management, budgets, etc. This position is located in
Toronto, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
- Site administration activities, including tracking employees’ hours, subtrade tickets, consumables, KPIs etc.
- Creating project Purchase Order requisitions for approval, ensuring accuracy and timely submittal.
- Communicating plans, actions, risks, issues and updates with key stakeholders such as Aecon employees, vendors, foremen, trades, superintendents, subcontractors.
- Fielding queries from external stakeholders and coordinating responses.
- Producing Daily Construction Report for approval & submission.
- Reviewing monthly quantities for approval by Consultant/Owner for contract progress estimates and reconciling subcontractor & materials progress estimates.
- Developing an understanding of budgets, cost reports & revenue forecasts at the project level.
- Developing and maintaining a project schedule as required by the Project/ Construction Manager.
- Leading by example ensuring Aecon’s corporate health and safety program and quality control plans are adhered to.
- Leading and contributing to safety toolbox talks.
- The Project Coordinator may be required to support field engineering or quality assurance activities as well as other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor.
Required Knowledge And Experience
- Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma / or equivalent training and experience.
- 2+ years of prior foundations experience.
- Must be open to rotational work as required.
- Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.
- Strong communication skills - oral and written.
- Strong time management and task prioritization skills.
- Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
- Adaptable to work a flexible work schedule when required.
- Ability to work with others as a team with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work away from home for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license.
