Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping by producing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Compile day to day financial transactions
- Calculate and manage payroll. Track employees’ timesheets, vacation, sick days etc.
- Process invoices and payment summaries
- Maintain tenant documents/leases
- Pairing invoices/packing slips
- Prepare and fulfill cheques
- Maintain company’s filing system
- Assemble information for external tax accountants and auditors as required
- Prepare spreadsheets of project costing/budgeting
- Review Invoices, Bills, WSIB, HST, PST, Payroll Remittance, Bank Reconciliations, Expense Reports, Insurance and Credit Card Statements
- Ensure all payment amounts & records are accurate, resolve discrepancies
- Work alongside company controller and accountants
- Complete other tasks as required
Provide and maintain courteous, professional, and efficient service to internal and external clients and business associates by responding to requests for information and redirecting inquiries beyond own scope of expertise in order to maintain good levels of customer service.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or similar
- Preferably 3 years of experience working as a full-cycle bookkeeper or accountant
- Experience working with accounting software (Sage)
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Fully computer literate with knowledge of Excel and Word
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to adapt to change and multi-tasking
- Good analytical and independent problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact at all organizational levels
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Exposure to Real Estate/Property Management field is an asset
- Valid driver’s license
