As a receptionist, you will greet all residents, visitors and staff either on the telephone or in person. You will provide calm, courteous and empathetic customer service assistance answering a variety of inquiries and directing people to the correct staff member or seeking immediate assistance for the customer.
Our ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications & skills:
- Minimum Grade 12 Education. Proficient computer and keyboarding skills. Previous reception and experience in working with the elderly is preferred.
- Always be pleasant, courteous and empathetic.
- Experience with customer service satisfaction, problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task under pressure.
- Proficient in interacting with clients in a variety of situations/circumstances.
- Intermediate knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills orientated toward the needs and challenges of the mature adult and their families, Shepherd Village staff and other clients.
- Able to work on own initiative, and independently prioritize work responsibilities while maintaining a high degree of efficiency.
- Cooperative and flexible team player, able to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exercise confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the Organization.
- Having a combination of days, evenings and or weekend availability is an asset.
